Circe

Recommendation inspired by:
The myth of Jason and the Argonauts - Iseult Gillespie

Why we love this book:

Circe is my favorite telling of mythological stories in any medium. I grew up obsessed with mythology; my copy of D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths has been picked over more than Prometheus's liver. Circe takes the gods, heroes, and monsters I found so enchanting as a child, and weaves their stories together into a lush tapestry that takes on the most ancient subjects of storytelling, like power and transformation and identity, in a way that couldn't be any more modern. It's fascinating and smart and beautifully written.
