Why should you read "The Handmaid's Tale"? - Naomi R. Mercer

Why we love this book:

It's no small feat to write a page-turner about the grisly inner workings of a repressive regime, but Atwood does just that with The Handmaid's Tale. In spite of its dystopian features, the story is full of color, texture, and even humor. Its world is tangible and alive, placing the reader in the moment with Offred as she shuttles through a complex web of oppressive restrictions and navigates schemes, small and large, to undermine the regime.
