How long should your naps be? - Sara C. Mednick
As the parent of an infant, I spent a lot of time these days planning, facilitating, and taking naps. I love a good nap, and yet I’ve always felt a bit guilty about them. That is, until I read Take a Nap! Change your life. It’s the perfect exploration of napping, answering every question I had about what’s happening in my brain; outlining the copious scientific evidence for the benefit of naps; and even exploring the frontiers of the subject (hypnogogic naps! Polyphasic sleep!). I came for the science and stayed for the explanation of how to design the perfect nap (which, it turns out, can vary significantly depending on your own needs). The title says it all—at the end of the day this is a book about helping us become our best selves, on both the individual and societal level.
