A Brief History of Time

Why we love this book:
A Brief History of Time is like a pyramid built out of TED-Ed lessons. It lays down a foundation of cosmology from first principles, then adds more and more information until you’re standing on top of ideas like the inflationary model of the universe and quantum gravity and sort of have some idea of what’s going on. I was surprised by how funny some of Hawking’s observations were, and it was thrilling to notice things that have changed since 1988, when he wrote the book (such as gravitational waves, which were observed for the first time in history in 2015).
